Frequently Ask Questions

General Questions

• Do you offer free consultations and evaluations?
Yes. Quotes are 100% free.
• What areas do you service?
The greater Kansas City area, and Lawrence. Check out our Range / Hours page for more information.
• Do I need weekly pool service?
If you find managing your pool tedious, difficult, or do not have the time, a weekly pool service is a great investment. Moreover, consistently maintained water chemistry means less chemical spending overtime, reduced pump wear, and better swimmer health. Pools with poorly maintained chemical balance can quickly turn green, develop dangerous biological organisms, and suffer physical equipment damage. The cost of intervention once this happens can be far higher than weekly maintenance. Generally speaking, having someone there to take care of your pool consistently can increase it's longevity, and help to catch potential issues before they arise.
• Do you provide both residential and commercial pool service?
Primarily residential, but feel free to reach out if you’re a commercial business. I’m sure we can work something out.
Will I receive unsolicited emails or phone calls unrelated to services, support, or referrals?
We absolutely DO NOT spam call or spam email ANYBODY. If you receive an ad from us via phone call or email, it is not from us, and the number or address should be blocked immediately.

Pool Cleaning & Maintenance

• What is included in your regular pool maintenance service?
We vacuum and clean the pool floor and walls, preform regular maintenance checks on above ground filters/pumps/plumbing, clean out the skimmer, monitor and adjust chemical balance of pool water, and repair/replace above-ground equipment as necessary. The cost of parts themselves are not included in weekly service fees, and larger repairs may incur additional charges.
• How often should my pool be cleaned, tested, and chemically balanced?
This depends on how often your pool gets used, and other factors such as weather. It’s probably a good idea to top off the chemicals, and clean it weekly.
• For how long should I run my pool pump each day?
It’s recommended you run your pool pump for about 8-12 hours a day to help keep your water clear and grime free.
• How often should pool filters be cleaned?
It largely depends on your pools size, filter size, number of filters, and the environment surrounding your pool. Generally speaking, the filters should be cleaned once every 2 months if you have the proper filter size for your pool.
• What chemicals does my pool need?
This largely depends on your pool and it’s surround environment, but nearly all pools will need at least Chlorine, Shock, Miradic Acid, Alkalinity, Cyneric Acid, with the occasional Phosphate Remover, Algaicide, and Soda Ash.
• What causes algae growth in pools?
A severe lack of chlorine, and high PH.
• Can you provide a customized maintenance plan for my pool?
Yes. We have a default routine we go through for every pool, but this can easily be altered to accommodate your needs. Just let us know how we can help.

Pool Repair Services

• What types of pool repairs do you perform?
We replace and install most above-ground parts such as pumps, filters, plumbing, heaters, chlorinators, and salt cells. We also replace and install pool liner. We do not preform underground repairs, or repair non-liner walls and floors.
• How long do pool repairs usually take?
It depends on how major the issue is. Repairs can vary between 30 minutes, as with above-ground pipe leaks, to several hours/days as with pool liner tears and pool shell cracks.
• How do I know if my pool has a leak?
If the pool is consistently losing water, or if the above-ground plumbing is visibly dripping.
• Do you carry replacement parts?
No. We order them from distributors as needed specifically for your pool.
• Do you repair pool automation and control systems?
No. We may be able to get into contact with manufacturers to license them to fix the issue, but problems with digital systems are mostly out of our realm of expertise for the time being.
• Do you repair pool covers?
No. We may be able to get into contact with manufacturers to license them to fix the issue, but problems with covers and cover cradles are mostly out of our realm of expertise for the time being.
• Do you measure and make pool liners?
No. While we do install pool liner, the actual creation of the liner needs to be done by another company.

Pricing & Billing

• What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, or any traditional debit/credit cards (such as Visa/Mastercard).
• Are chemicals included in the monthly service price?
They are not. The prices of chemicals and their usage rates vary substantially between pools, which would make it impossible to accurately and fairly price a single charge to all customers.
• Are your repairs covered by a warranty?
Yes. If we mess up a part installation, install the wrong part, or the part is received broken, customers don’t pay a dime extra. However, if a third party, or the customer themselves specifically requests that we install a part which does not function as expected, they may then be liable for extra replacement costs. This policy extends up to 6 months after the part is installed.
• Are there contracts or can I cancel anytime?
You can cancel anytime. We will not lock you into contracts. However, there will be a 40$ cancellation fee if you cancel less than two hours before your scheduled service.
• How do you bill customers?
If you’re using a debit or credit card, we go through an app called Skimmer (which we can walk you through during our first visit with you). If you use cash or check, we will accept it in person. We also accept apps such as Venmo and Cashapp.

Scheduling & Appointments

• How do I schedule service?
Give us a call, and we’ll slot you in at your earliest convenience. We don’t have an online scheduling system yet, but it will come eventually.
• Do I need to be home during service visits?
No. You can be as elusive as you like. We don’t mind. Any important information will be relayed to you via text, phone call, or email.
• What happens if it rains on my scheduled service day?
The service will continue as planned, unless we are repairing electrical, or there are repeated lightning strikes or violently strong winds in your area for over an hour after arrival. You will not be charged a cancellation fee in the event of a weather related cancellation. We may also reschedule appointment to the following day if that’s something you’re okay with.
• How quickly can you respond to repair requests?
As quickly as our schedule allows, which is typically within the week. In the event of a screw-up on our end, we will personally make time to fix the issue.
How often can re-occurring pool services be scheduled?
Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Monthly.
• When should I open my pool for the season?
The larger your pool, the earlier you can open. Opening season is typically between late February to late May. If you would like it open by a certain time, be sure to call us two weeks in advance to guarantee a spot on the schedule.
• How should I prepare my pool for winter?
The larger your pool, the earlier you can open. Closing season is typically between early October to late November. It is highly advised you close your pool before temperatures descend below 40 degrees. Be sure to call us two weeks in advance to guarantee a spot on the schedule.
